Olivia Deal Thompson, the last surviving grandchild of Osage Chief James Bigheart, after 101 righteous years on this earth, gently walked into the next world in the early hours before dawn on June 11, 2013. She joins her husband, sons, parents, and siblings who preceded her on that journey.

Olivia’s surviving progeny include her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchldren, and great-great-grandchildren, in Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon and California.

She wished her fond regards extended to her nephews, relatives, and friends and to her “California Cousins” and their families, and to her adopted daughters in Oregon and Alaska, all of whom she held dear.

According to her wishes, Olivia’s cremated remains were interred at the family cemetery in a private ceremony. A memorial celebration of her life to be held in 2014 in Pawhuska will be announced in a timely manner. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations to her two most favored charities, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and N.A.R.A.L., whose causes she steadfastly supported.
